Patrice Evra told BBC Sounds that Tottenham striker Harry Kane needs to leave in order to win trophies.
The Premier League legend pointed out that loyalty only goes to a ‘certain point’ and claimed that his ‘talent, desire, quality and ambition’ is bigger than Tottenham.
There have been suggestions for some while now that Kane wants to leave Spurs, with Manchester City keen on his services.
Evra shared his thoughts on Kane’s future in North London and his loyalty to a club that has given him so much and vice-versa.
“So, you want to judge Harry Kane because he wants to win trophies? Yes, you have to be loyal to a certain point,” said Evra.
“But when your talent, your desire, your quality and your ambition are bigger than your club then I don’t call it that you’re not loyal to your club. You are just loyal to your ambition and your goal in life.
“If he needs to leave then good luck to him. I hope he has the same destiny as some football players, they play so long for a club, they didn’t win anything and went to the next club the next season and won something.
“When you feel like your club is not good enough or maybe Tottenham is going to buy some super player and you feel like ‘wow this transfer window was good. I stay and I give them again a chance’. But if you don’t feel that then you have to leave.”

Well, from Tottenham’s standpoint, they want to keep their star man on their books and Fabio Paratici made that clear last night.
It does seem as though once Euro 2020 concludes then this Kane saga will explode.
But with all this talk about Kane wanting to win a trophy, it would be something if he won his first in England colours.
It does raise the question if Kane wins Euro 2020 with England, does that surpass or better Alan Shearer’s one Premier League title with Blackburn?
