Erling Haaland cemented himself as one of the most popular players at the World Cup among new fans before Norway were knocked out of the competition.
His country overachieved at the tournament, reaching the quarter-finals of the World Cup for the first time in their history.
They were eventually beaten by England after extra time, but Haaland had plenty of time to endear himself to the locals before heading home.
After returning to Norway, the Manchester City striker has revealed that he brought a taxidermy raccoon back from the United States.

Taking to his official Instagram account, Haaland shared a photo of himself walking off the plane carrying the raccoon.
He captioned the post: “It followed me home,” followed by a raccoon emoji and a laughing-face emoji.
It prompted some big accounts to respond, including Nike Football, who commented: “New duo loading”.
Amazon also took to the comment section to write: “It’s giving ‘if I won the lottery there’d be signs’.”
It is safe to say that the Norwegian enjoyed his time in the USA, with Haaland sending messages to his fans after being knocked out by England.
He wrote: “Goodbye. It’s been emotional!” and “It’s been quite a row, thank you for making it so special.”
For those who want to keep up with Haaland after watching him at the World Cup, he will now, after some time off, gear up for the 2026/27 Premier League season with Manchester City.
City face Arsenal in the Community Shield on August 16 before kicking off their league campaign against Bournemouth on August 23.
