The World Cup being hosted in North America has given fans from around the world a chance to experience the United States for themselves.
The majority of games have been held in the US, with the last three matches, including the final, also set to take place in the country.
During this time, many supporters who have visited America have had nothing but positive things to say, with one now admitting he was previously worried about his trip due to what he was seeing in the media.

Media coverage of America worried World Cup fan
Bastiand Matti, a German fan, has decided to stay in the United States long after his country were knocked out of the tournament in the Round of 32.
He stayed because of his positive experience, but has now spoken of his initial scepticism at travelling across the pond due to the media coverage of the country.
Taking to X/Twitter, he stated in the caption of his post: “As a German, I was scared to visit America. I’d mostly heard negative things in the media and from others.
“I came for the World Cup. I stayed because of the people. My biggest lesson: experience a country for yourself, not just through headlines. Thank You America.”
In the video itself, the fan urged people to visit the US and experience it for themselves, saying: “I had such a great time here in America.
“Please visit America and make yourself a picture of this beautiful country.
“The people are so lovely and helpful. The hospitality is great. I recommend visiting the United States and checking it out; it’s so beautiful. Thank you so much for your great hospitality.”
The World Cup is now set to come to a close on Sunday, July 19, with Spain, France, England and Argentina currently vying for a place in the final.
While the tournament is nearly over and the USMNT did not get as far as some fans may have hoped, the World Cup does seem to have been a positive PR move for America, and may open the door for a longer-term tourist boom.
