Arsenal continued their stunning start to the Premier League campaign with a 3-1 win over Tottenham, thanks to goals from Thomas Partey, Gabriel Jesus and Granit Xhaka.

After full-time, there were wild celebrations at the Emirates Stadium, with Aaron Ramsdale heavily involved in making sure Tottenham noses were rubbed in the defeat.

What Aaron Ramsdale did during Arsenal 3-1 Tottenham

As spotted by Glenn Murray while on commentary duty for BBC Radio 5 Live, the England international could be seen waving goodbye to what was basically an empty away end at the Emirates Stadium.

The 39-year-old said: “It’s Arsenal’s day without doubt. The highlight of the last ten minutes has been seeing Aaron Ramsdale turn round and wave to the almost empty Spurs away end. I love players showing their personality because it’s happening less and less on the pitch.”

In fairness, the Arsenal No.1 was entitled to give it back to Tottenham a bit after Richarlison appeared to wind him up midway through the opening 45 minutes.

After Harry Kane equalised from the penalty spot, the Brazil international could be seen saying something to Ramsdale as he jogged past him, which seemed to get a reaction from the shot-stopper.

Nevertheless, it was the Arsenal glovesman who had the last laugh.

Arsenal showed title credentials against Tottenham

After Kane equalised for Spurs, the north London derby became a potential banana skin for Arsenal, and they did well not to slip up.

The Arsenal of old would have crumbled amid the pressure put on them by Tottenham after the score was levelled, although Mikel Arteta ensured his side dug in and weathered the storm.

It was the win of potential champions, and a campaign which began with Champions League aspirations could now end with a Premier League title if the Gunners can keep this up.

They now sit top of the Premier League with 21 points from a possible 24 – if key players stay fit, Arsenal could do something special this season.
