The internet was left stunned when FIFA blocked Mexico’s national team from keeping a $1 million gesture, and now, SteveWillDoIt is finally sharing his side of the story.
American content creator SteveWillDoIt ignited a World Cup controversy after gifting 31 luxury Rolex watches, valued at a combined $1 million, to Mexico’s national team players and staff following a massive $2 million gambling payout.
However, the gesture was short-lived. FIFA swiftly intervened, enforcing Article 21 of its strict Code of Ethics, which explicitly prohibits soccer professionals from accepting high-value gifts that could trigger conflicts of interest.
Faced with the threat of a two-year tournament ban and heavy fines, the Mexican Football Federation complied, returning the luxury watches and forcing the influencer to address the dramatic rejection.

SteveWillDoIt addresses the Rolex incident
SteveWillDoIt has revealed the real reason Mexico’s players had to hand back their luxury watches, confirming that FIFA and their official sponsor, Hublot, put a swift end to his lavish plans.
Speaking out on the controversy ahead of Mexico v England on his YouTube channel, he explained:
“Last time before the game I gave the entire Mexico team a Rolex. And I guess FIFA and Hublot got a little mad about that. So, I was gonna give a watch to every single player before the game today (Mexico v England) and get it for their mothers. But I guess FIFA and Hublot didn’t like that.”
