NBA commissioner Adam Silver has revealed when he expects there to be an update on the ongoing investigation into Kawhi Leonard.
The trade deal involving Leonard from the LA Clippers to the Toronto Raptors has been put on hold following an investigation into cap circumvention allegations between the player and the Clippers.
As a result, the trade has yet to be signed off but Silver is hoping for an end sooner rather than later.

Adam Silver says Kawhi Leonard investigation has dragged on
Despite recent revelations from The Athletic claiming that the NBA had opened up another investigation regarding a potential second endorsement deal Leonard had with another company, Silver is hoping that they can reach a conclusion by the summer.
“My timeline remains this summer,” he said. “We all have an interest in wrapping this up. I’m hopeful it will wrap up this summer and that will continue to remain the goal here.
“It’s gone on longer than I would have hoped, there’s no question about that.
“I would hope this can be wrapped up—and needs to be wrapped up—before next season.”
Nobody benefits from the Kawhi Leonard saga
Right now, there is nobody benefitting from the saga involving Leonard.
As the NBA’s investigation seemingly takes an eternity, the Clippers and Raptors are left in limbo about whether or not the deal will be finalized while Leonard is unsure if he will be playing any time soon.
Having heard that they could face punishment if the NBA’s investigation into cap circumvention allegations, the Raptors have paused the deal.
The longer this rumbles on, the more frustration will grow.
