Well, there’s been a negative development regarding Arsenal injury news.
Mikel Arteta confirmed on Friday that Reiss Nelson is indeed set for a spell in the treatment room.
It was reported by The Athletic two weeks ago that the Arsenal manager would give the 22-year-old winger an opportunity to impress him in the senior outfit this season, having loaned him out to the Netherlands last term.
However, it looks like Nelson might have to bide his time.
Arteta told the Gunners’ official website: “He felt something in training. We scanned it and the doctor came with some bad news. It’s a muscular injury and hopefully he will be back soon. They need to do another test and hopefully next week, we’ll have more information.”
This is devastating for Nelson, particularly if he’s out for the long term.

As the Arsenal bsos revealed, there’s no timescale on his potential return, meaning that nobody at London Colney is certain over how severe the problem is just yet.
Following on from that report from The Athletic, Nelson will have been champing at the bit to impress the Spaniard this season.
Arteta loaning him out for the 2021-22 campaign was a massive indication that he wasn’t in his long-term plans at Arsenal.
But after some promising pre-season performances, it would appear as if Nelson got Arteta back on side and hopefully, for his sake, he can shake off this injury sooner rather than later.
His Arsenal career might depend on a speedy recovery.
