Skip Bayless has delivered another fiery take, this time targeting newly appointed Atlanta Falcons head coach Kevin Stefanski.
The veteran analyst spoke out after Baker Mayfield criticised his former Cleveland Browns coach, accusing him of failing to reach out following his trade to Carolina in 2022.
The quarterback’s comments quickly spread across social media, reigniting discussion about the fractured relationship that defined their time together in Cleveland.
Bayless, a long-time supporter of Mayfield, made it clear who he was siding with.
Skip Bayless brands Kevin Stefanski ‘a smug fraud’
Bayless showed full support for Mayfield as he tore into Stefanski’s reputation, questioning whether the former Browns coach was the right choice for Atlanta.
“Go, Baker, go. Call out Stefanski. Say you can’t wait to see him twice next year. You made him, then he predictably turned on you,” Bayless tweeted.
The outspoken commentator went further, suggesting that Falcons owner Arthur Blank had made a mistake in bringing Stefanski to Atlanta.
“He’s a smug fraud, an awful hire for Atlanta. He fooled Blank. He’ll shoot blanks.”
Some fans agreed that Stefanski’s Cleveland tenure ended poorly, while others argued that Bayless’ loyalty to Mayfield had clouded his judgment.
Still, the analyst’s blunt words reflected a growing tension between the two figures, which could now play out next season when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers face the Falcons.

Baker Mayfield reignites feud with his former coach
Mayfield’s message came shortly after Stefanski was officially introduced as Atlanta’s new head coach, ending his four-year spell in Cleveland.
The quarterback, who spent two seasons working under him, made it clear that their fallout remains unresolved.
“Still waiting on a text or call from him after I got shipped off like a piece of garbage,” Mayfield said. “Can’t wait to see you twice a year, Coach.”
Their strained relationship first surfaced during the 2021 season when reports emerged of communication breakdowns between Mayfield and the Browns staff.
Cleveland later traded the quarterback to the Carolina Panthers, a move that marked the end of his time with the franchise.
