As classy as Thibaut Courtois is, even he couldn’t help but take a dig at the USMNT after Belgium’s win in the Round of 16 clash.

At 34 years old, Thibaut Courtois continues to defy age, maintaining his status as one of the world’s best goalkeepers.

The Real Madrid and Belgium star has won more than 20 major trophies for club and country. His incredible haul includes four La Liga titles, two Premier League titles, two UEFA Champions League trophies, and a Europa League crown, alongside a FIFA World Cup Golden Glove.

What will Donald Trump have to say to get them out of this one? 👀

And now he’s closing in on adding a potential World Cup to that list, as Belgium advanced to the Quarter-finals after the 4-1 win over the USMNT.

But he didn’t let Mauricio Pochettino and his men exit quietly, as Courtois told the media all about how overhyped Team USA are.

Thibaut Courtois lets loose on the USMNT in Belgium interview

As was the case with almost every interview after the game, the decision to overturn Folarin Balogun’s red card added plenty of fuel to the comments that were made.

Thibaut Courtois didn’t hold back with his comments, labelling the USMNT as worse than Senegal.

“I understand that they want to hype America, but I felt a little more certain today that we were going to win than against Senegal. I think Senegal is a better team than America.”

Belgium left it late to defeat Senegal in the Round of 32, as Romelu Lukaku and Youri Tielemans sparked a dramatic comeback, with Tielemans striking a controversial 125th-minute penalty.

It’s hard to argue Courtois’ comments based on the performance from the USMNT, but on the whole, the players and Mauricio Pochettino can be proud of their tournament.

They truly did make everyone dream.
