The Seattle Seahawks ownership has moved to shut down reports claiming the franchise will be put up for sale ahead of Super Bowl LX.
The Paul G. Allen estate issued a public response after speculation emerged suggesting the Seattle Seahawks were preparing for a change in ownership.
The clarification comes as the franchise prepares to compete on the NFL’s biggest stage for the first time in 11 years.

The Paul G. Allen estate, the ownership group behind the Seattle Seahawks, addressed speculation surrounding the future of the franchise following reports of a potential sale.
A spokesperson for the estate gave a response to NFL insider Ian Rappaport, which said that there is no truth to the rumors of the team being up for sale.
“We don’t comment on rumors or speculation, and the team is not for sale. We’ve already said that will change at some point per Paul’s wishes, but I have no news to share.”
The statement made clear that no immediate ownership changes are planned, especially ahead of such a monumental weekend.
Super Bowl focus remains amid outside speculation
The estate also emphasized that its attention is currently centered on football matters, along with the sale of their NBA franchise, the Portland Trail Blazers, rather than ownership discussions.
The spokesperson added, “Our focus right now is winning the Super Bowl and completing the sale of the Portland Trail Blazers in the coming months.”
As noted, the Seattle Seahawks will face the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday, February 9th.
Any talk of a sale ahead of such a monumental game can serve as a distraction for players and the top brass, which is perhaps why the ownership group put out a statement that shut down this talk.
