For those who’ve been living under a rock over the last week, Jimothy the raccoon has gone viral on social media for his unique shape.
It is believed he suffers from a spinal issue, which has dramatically altered his typical raccoon body to become much shorter than usual.
Prior to the first ball being thrown at Globe Life Field on Friday, the likes of Julio Rodriguez were spotted wearing special t-shirts with images of Jimothy on them.
The Seattle team wore these shirts as they warmed up ahead of their game against the Texas Rangers.
It was another defeat for the Mariners on the road as the Rangers secured the 5-4 win despite some late fight in the ninth inning from the M’s.
Jimothy the raccoon may arguably have more support in Seattle than the Mariners right now.
The win for the Rangers saw them leapfrog the Mariners in the AL West as their record improved to 52-51.
Wilson’s Mariners are seriously struggling having only won four of their last 10 games.
With things failing to improve for the Mariners, they are going to have to do more than look to Jimothy for some inspiration if they want their season to end on a high.
