Jose Mourinho has raved about reported Liverpool target Kylian Mbappe on talkSPORT.

The former Tottenham Hotspur manager believes that Mbappe could take over from Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as the best player in the world.

Mourinho made the comments about the reported Liverpool target while looking ahead to the Euro 2020 finals.

Liverpool speculation

As we covered here on HITC Sport, The Athletic has claimed that Liverpool could make a move for Mbappe if his contract at Paris Saint-Germain runs down to the final six months.

Well-known journalist Duncan Castles has said on the Transfer Window Podcast that Mbappe’s first-choice club, if he leaves PSG, would be Liverpool, as covered by HITC Sport.

Journalist Ian McGarry has previously said on the Transfer Window Podcast that the Merseyside club are looking into the possibility of signing Mbappe from PSG, as covered by HITC Sport.

What’s been said

Mourinho said about Mbappe on talkSPORT: “When you have Mbappe on your side it’s very difficult not to win, it’s much easier to win.

“He’s one of those players that wins matches, scares opponents, pushes opposition to change their approach because of his qualities. With Messi and Ronaldo going to their late 30s, I think he’s the next one.”

Encouraging for Liverpool

Liverpool fans will know all about Mbappe. They do not need Mourinho to tell them just how good the PSG forward is.

However, the AS Roma manager’s comments are very relevant.

They show just how highly Mbappe is rated in the footballing community.

Mourinho is one of the best managers of all time, and he knows a quality player when he sees one.
