Liverpool are expected to make their move for Kylian Mbappe, if his contract at PSG runs down to the final six months, the Athletic say.
There has been claims that Mbappe wants to join Liverpool, firstly on the Transfer Window Podcast.
Any deal looks hugely difficult at this stage for Liverpool to complete due to Mbappe’s price-tag.
He moved to PSG for a huge fee, and it seems highly unlikely that the French club would sell him for much less than a world record – given the level of his ability.
Indeed, Guillem Balague has suggested that he will cost any buying club £154 million, even with his contract situation the way it is.
Mbappe is widely considered to be one of the very best up and coming talents in the world.
However, his future at PSG is not as assured as it once was due to his contractual situation and Jurgen Klopp’s side are apparently keeping tabs on events in the French capital.

Mbappe is contracted to PSG until 2022, which means that Mauricio Pochettino’s side are now running out of time to tie him down to a long-term deal.
If Mbappe still has not signed a new contract by January, then Liverpool are expected to make their move. But even then landing him would be difficult.
Liverpool would be in competition with the likes of Real Madrid and Chelsea for his signature.
Exciting news
Liverpool would surely have to break their wage structure to have any chance of beating too of the most financially powerful clubs in the world to the Frenchman’s signature.
But the appeal of signing Mbappe is obvious, especially on a free transfer, and if ever there was a reason to smash through the wage ceiling, this potential transfer may be it.
