William Gallas says it’s ‘sad to see’ Harry Kane secure a transfer from Tottenham Hotspur to Bayern Munich.

The former Premier League defender hinted on his Instagram story that he wanted the England captain to stay in ‘the best league in the world’.

That’s what Tottenham fans were hoping as well, especially with their Premier League opener against Brentford around the corner and increasing confidence that he wasn’t actually going to move.

But with 12 months left on Harry Kane’s contract, Daniel Levy decided to accept Bayern Munich’s offer and allow the club’s all-time leading goalscorer to start a new chapter of his career in Germany.

There are suggestions that Levy has ‘screwed over’ Ange Postecoglou, who whilst preparing for life as a first-time Premier League manager, has been dealt a very bad hand.

This isn’t an ideal start for the Treble-winning Celtic coach, with Gallas sharing his thoughts on the call to sell Kane.

“Harry Kane, sad to see you leave the best league in the world,” said Gallas. “I wish you all the best and as many titles as possible.”

Harry Kane’s Bayern debut

Bayern did everything they could do to get Kane registered in time for their Super Cup encounter against RB Leipzig, as life started in a nightmare fashion.

By the time the England captain could come onto the field of play, his team were 2-0 down, and they ended up losing the match 3-0.

But Kane will be hoping to turn the club’s recent drop-off around, with Didi Hamann amazed by Bayern fans’ actions moments before he came onto the pitch at the Allianz Arena.
