Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves has described Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal as “fantastic” on BBC Sport after playing against the Gunners.
Arsenal got the better of Wolves 2-0 away from home in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
Norway international attacking midfielder Martin Odegaard scored both the goals for the Gunners.
And both the goals came in the second half.
Neves – described as “a top, top player” and “sensational” by former Manchester United star Gary Neville on Sky Sports Premier League (7:29pm, March 18, 2022) – was impressed.
Interestingly, Neves has been linked with a move to Arsenal.
Sport reported in September that the Gunners are keen on signing the Portugal international midfielder in the summer of 2023 and are ready to compete with Barcelona for his signature.

Neves said: “They’re a fantastic team playing fantastic football.”

Title challengers
In our view, Arsenal are now genuine challengers for the Premier League title this season.
Heading into the break for the 2022 World Cup finals in Qatar, Arsenal find themselves as many as five points clear of second-placed and defending champions Manchester City at the top of the league table.
With the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United quite far behind, the Gunners do appear to be the main threat to City for the title.
Now, of course, we know that City have a better squad than Arsenal, but if the Gunners make one or two quality signings in the January transfer window, then they will give themselves a great chance of winning the title.
And let’s not forget that Arsenal are also aiming to win the UEFA Europa League this season.
