The World Cup has taken the United States by storm with some of the biggest names in soccer showcasing their talents to a new audience.

One person who has been intrigued by the World Cup is future NFL Hall of Famer Rob Gronkowski.

The former tight end was known for dominating the opposition’s defense with his 6-foot-6-inch fram, which is a rarity in the world of soccer.

Who is the better striker, Haaland or Kane? And why?

Do you agree with Michael Owen?

There are very few soccer players who are quite as tall as Gronk, with one of them being England defender Dan Burn.

However, it is another player who Gronk truly believes would be his most similar match when comparing himself to the players he’s watched this summer.

Rob Gronkowski compares himself to Norway striker Erling Haaland

Erling Haaland endeared himself with the American audience after the striker’s efforts on the pitch, as well as his social media activity.

Gronk is in that camp having been wowed by Haaland’s physicality, which is something that is not necessarily common in soccer.

“They asked me who my comp is in the World Cup, and it’s an easy answer, it’s Erling Haaland. He’s the only guy that is compared to me and replicates what I did on the football field and what he does on the football field,” Gronk said on The Late Run podcast.

“His size, his endurance, his strength. The way he scores goals as well, it’s similar to the way I played American Football. When that ball is near the end zone or near the goal, the red light lights up and we know that’s ours to get the job done and score.”

Haaland enjoyed his time in the United States, with the Norwegian taking a slice of America home with him through his unique souvenir.

The Norway striker ended the World Cup with a total of six goals, but was unable to find the back of the net in the quarter-final clash against England.

Ironically, Julian Edelman said Haaland was most like Gronkowski out of all the players past and present.

Clearly, with his stature, there are many who feel Haaland would not look out of place on the gridiron.
