Tottenham Hotspur and Everton have both been linked with the Brazilian left-back since October 2016.

Guilherme Arana, a rumoured target for Tottenham Hotspur and Everton over the past 13 months, says he is close to joining Sevilla.

Tuttomercatoweb reported last October that Arana had held positive talks over a move to Tottenham, while the Daily Mail claimed in June that Everton had scouted the left-back.

And after helping current club Corinthians to the Brazilian title with games to spare this season, Arana finally looks set for a move to Europe in January.

But according to the player, his next destination will likely be the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán.

“Everything indicates that I’m leaving for Spain,” said Aran – who was also linked with a move to Barcelona – as quoted by ESPN. “From Barcelona, nothing official arrived to me, only from Sevilla.

“I can’t even talk, I just have to thank Corinthians. I have always made it clear what my dream was. I want to play in Europe, and it’s very close to happening.

“I’m very happy about it.”

According to El Mundo Deportivo, Sevilla will pay Corinthians €11 million (£9.8 million) for Arana, who will sign a four-and-a-half-year contract in Andalusia.

Danny Rose of Tottenham Hotspur looks on during the Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace at Wembley Stadium on November 5, 2017 in London, England.

Tottenham are in no urgent need for another left-back, with Ben Davies and Danny Rose sharing responsibilities this season.

Nevertheless, the Sun reported on Friday that Manchester United have stepped up their interest in Rose.

Everton, on the other hand, are desperately short of quality in Arana’s position, beyond their long servant, Leighton Baines.
