West Ham are reportedly interested in signing Rennes superstar Martin Terrier, yet the Irons face major competition for the 25-year-old from Premier League rivals Liverpool and Tottenham.

According to But, the Hammers are looking to sign another attacker this summer with Gianluca Scamacca set to join West Ham this week, and Terrier has been identified by David Moyes as a potential option, with the Frenchman coming off his best season ever in Ligue 1.

Terrier bagged 21 goals for Rennes in all competitions as well as seven assists, and the winger’s performances have caught the eyes of some of England’s biggest sides, with both Liverpool and Tottenham also reportedly interested in signing the now West Ham target.

Likened this week to Thierry Henry by European football expert Tim Williams, Terrier is a dynamic forward who made a name for himself last season by cutting in from the left-wing and causing damage from the flanks, a trait that many top clubs in the Premier League could do with having in their attacking arsenal.

Indeed, as per But, Rennes are eager to keep hold of Terrier this summer but would be open to selling their star attacker if a €40m (£34m) offer was to come in for the 25-year-old, something West Ham could be willing to pay if Moyes is determined enough to land the inside-attacker.

The West Ham manager has enjoyed brilliant success with a similar winger in Jarrod Bowen, with the England international bagging double digits in goals and assists last season mainly by cutting in from out-wide to cause problems centrally, and the Irons having Terrier on the left could be a dangerous combination for the Irons.

Moyes has elevated West Ham to a whole new level in large part to the shrewd signings the Scottish coach has made in the past two years, and Terrier joining alongside Scamacca could give the Hammers one of the most exciting and dangerous front three’s in the Premier League for next season.

With Terrier, Scamacca and Bowen all around the same age, West Ham could have a trio that develops and grows together for many years to come, and beating the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham to the French winger’s signature would be an incredible coup for the east London side for the upcoming season.
