Watford reportedly want to tie up a permanent move for M’Baye Niang already, amid interest from West Ham United.

According to the Daily Star, Watford want to get a permanent deal tied up for loan forward M’Baye Niang before rival Premier League clubs make a move for him.

With the Hornets struggling for goals, manager Walter Mazzarri overhauled his attacking options, with Odion Ighalo leaving for Chinese club Changchun Yatai, whilst Mauro Zarate and M’Baye Niang arrived to boost the attacking options at Vicarage Road.

Since those two players arrived at the club, Watford have won twice, claiming 2-0 and 2-1 wins over Arsenal and Burnley respectively, with Niang particularly impressing.

The French attacker, snapped up on loan from AC Milan, was a constant menace against Arsenal before notching a goal and an assist in an irresistible performance during the win over Burnley.

Niang, 22, has shown pace, power and exceptional quality on the ball, whilst his inch-perfect headed goal against Burnley showed he has aerial ability too, making him a complete forward – if he can find the consistency that has been missing over the years.

Now, the Daily Star report that Watford are obliged to sign Niang for a club-record £13.5million if the forward scores ten goals this season, and whilst he’s one down already, Watford appear to be keen on a deal regardless.

It’s stated that Watford are concerned that his performances could see a Premier League rival swoop for his signature, as he will be open to purchase if he fails to hit ten goals.

The report adds that West Ham United – who chose not to sign a forward in January in favour of waiting until the summer – have been registering an interest in Niang, and the Hammers could be one club that rival Watford for Niang’s signature at the end of the season.
