Tottenham are planning a January move to sign PSG target Mohamed Simakan from RB Leipzig, as Antonio Conte eyes three reinforcements.

That is according to The Times, who believe the Italian wants to sign a defender, midfielder and a forward this winter.

Tottenham plot Simakan move

Well, Tottenham actually seem to have two options on their radar as they target a new defender, with Inter Milan centre-back Alessandro Bastoni also on their shortlist.

However, The Times believe Simakan has been the subject of internal talks among those higher up at Spurs – they are not named, but we presume Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici were involved.

The 22-year-old has made a name for himself in Europe with some excellent displays for RB Leipzig, making an impact both in the centre and on the right of defence.

So far this season, Simakan has scored two goals while also providing five assists, with four of those goal involvements coming in just six Champions League appearances.

In regards to a midfielder and a forward, The Times believe Weston McKennie is an option, while Spurs could also reignite their interest in Anthony Gordon after failing to sign him in the summer.

Tottenham face Simakan battle

In bad news for Tottenham, PSG are also interested in signing Simakan.

That was according to L’Equipe, who believe the France Under-20 international has become a target for Christophe Galtier at the Parc des Princes.

PSG have changed their transfer policy slightly to focus on hoovering up young French talent such as Hugo Ekitike, with Luis Campos moving away from signing headline names such as Neymar for incredible sums.

Therefore, Simakan fits PSG’s new policy perfectly, and with significant funds at their disposal, the French giants will surely prove to be a genuine problem in Tottenham’s pursuit of the RB Leipzig No.2 in January.
