Ralf Rangnick has apparently told Manchester United to sign Jude Bellingham, meaning they could be on a collision clash with Liverpool over the England international midfielder.
Bellingham to Manchester United?
ESPN say that Rangnick has instructed United’s staff to take a closer look at Bellingham, as he recommended potential players to sign after coming in.
This latest update is very interesting, as Bellingham already appears to be Liverpool’s top target.
Just this week, the Daily Mirror said that Jurgen Klopp was prepared to break Liverpool’s transfer record to sign Bellingham.
The report claimed that Klopp was ready to sanction a deal worth £90 million to sign the 18-year-old midfielder.
Who will win the race?
Typically United have been more willing to pay bigger sums to sign players than Liverpool.
The Red Devils have spent big to bring in the likes of Jadon Sancho, Bruno Fernandes and Harry Maguire in recent years – while Liverpool haven’t always been the most lavish spenders.
United’s relationship with Dortmund after the Sancho deal could also benefit them, if they do have to go head to head with Liverpool for Bellingham.

There is no doubting that the youngster would be a wonderful signing for either club.
Bellingham has proven his ability to play at the very top level at Dortmund, despite his tender years, with Erling Haaland calling him ‘amazing’ recently.
He is already tipped to be a star of the future, and looks set to have a huge role for England in the years ahead – after already becoming a fairly established member of Gareth Southgate’s squad.
If United were to grab him ahead of Liverpool, then he would surely walk straight into their midfield over Scott McTominay or Fred.
But to have a chance in the transfer battle, Rangnick will almost certainly have to ensure that United make it into the Champions League spots during his time in charge.
