According to Foot Mercato, PSG are now in talks to sign Arsenal outcast Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in a deal from Chelsea.

Aubameyang set for third club after Arsenal exit

Back in February, the Gabon international saw his contract terminated at Arsenal following a disciplinary breach.

After that fallout with Mikel Arteta, Aubameyang joined Barcelona, where he showcased his goalscoring instincts with 13 goals in 24 appearances.

However, the 33-year-old was replaced by Robert Lewandowski at the Camp Nou, before Chelsea brought him back to London to be reunited with Thomas Tuchel in a deal worth £10m.

Now, Aubameyang looks set to be heading for his third club since leaving Arsenal less than 12 months ago.

Foot Mercato believe PSG sense an opportunity to sign the Chelsea No.9 after Tuchel was sacked, and have already held positive talks with the striker.

Aubameyang is said to be open to joining the Parisians, as he has always had an appreciation for the French giants – he was also born in Laval, France, so it would be an opportunity to be closer to family.

Arsenal were right to offload Aubameyang

If Aubameyang does end up playing for Barcelona, Chelsea and PSG within the space of a year after leaving Arsenal, some would suggest Arteta made the wrong call, given the fact that so many of Europe’s elite want him.

While he remains an effective striker, we still believe Arteta was right to part ways with him.

The Spaniard clearly felt that Aubameyang had become a figure of disruption behind the scenes, regardless of how he was performing on the pitch.

Discipline is everything in football, and Arteta has since been proven right in offloading the likes of Mesut Özil and Aubameyang as the Gunners currently sit top of the Premier League.

You can’t keep everyone happy in football – it is a results industry, and Arteta is certainly getting plenty of those at the moment.
