Transfer expert Alan Nixon has reported on his Patreon channel that Bournemouth are ready to ‘splash the cash’ on Bristol City attacker Antoine Semenyo in a deal worth £12million – amid reports Celtic and Rangers want the player.
Semenyo, 22, notched his fifth goal of the season on New Year’s Day in a 1-1 draw with Coventry City. Since joining The Robins, he has had a hand in 39 goals during 121 games. At 22, he is a talent. Of course, he was at the World Cup.
Part of Ghana’s squad, he featured in two of his country’s three group games before being knocked out. Now, the Cherries want him as part of Gary O’Neil’s side in the coming weeks. A fee of £12million has been mooted by Nixon.
As things stand, Semenyo is out of contract at the end of the season. But Bristol City are expected to exercise the option that allows him to pen another 12 months. However, that is yet to be done and interest is being generated.
Sports World Ghana reported towards the end of 2022 that Rangers were looking at making a bid. Meanwhile, Football Scotland said Celtic have held talks. But, it looks as if both Old Firm sides could be beaten by Gary O’Neil’s Cherries.

Bournemouth ready Semenyo deal amid Celtic and Rangers reports
There is no way that Rangers and Celtic can afford Semenyo – if Bournemouth are paying £12million. But such a fee does seem over the top, even if Semenyo has impressed. Manager Nigel Pearson said he is “difficult to play against”.
But that has not been consistent enough. Clearly, there is a Premier League tax on Semenyo. Celtic and Rangers should remain on red alert for a player that would certainly impress in Scotland. But, Bournemouth are definitely front runners.
