According to The Independent, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is happy to release the player on a temporary basis, although The Chronicle suggests the German may need convincing about Newcastle’s ability to offer the first team football he needs to progress.

The Independent has, however, reported that Newcastle are leading the race for Ojo, adding that the England Under-20 international would favour a move to the Magpies ahead of fellow suitors Burnley and Middlesbrough.

Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez, who spent six years in charge of Liverpool, are working on deals for a winger and full-backs.

United have been linked with a number of wide players this transfer window, with Adama Dikahaby of Rennes the latest name associated with the St James’ Park outfit, by French website L’Equipe.
