CalcioMercatoWeb claim Newcastle have added Inter Milan attacker Joaquin Correa to their summer shortlist. That interest has been made known ‘in the last few hours’, and he could be signed in a double deal worth £43million.
Correa, 27, only joined Inter from Lazio last summer – but is already considering a move. That is after Simone Inzaghi afforded him just 14 starts during 2021-22 – with 22 of his 36 outings coming from the bench.

Newcastle have made their interest in the attacker known on Thursday. It comes after Newcastle were linked with two other Inter stars earlier this week, in the form of Denzel Dumfries and Hakan Calhanoglu.
This time, CMW say that Newcastle could sign Correa and include Netherlands defender de Vrij in a double deal worth £43million. De Vrij has not signed a new deal at Inter and Newcastle are keen, but so are Spurs.
Newcastle have added Correa to shortlist: £43m de Vrij deal a bargain
Correa cost Inter little over £20million last summer, but was considered a bargain at the time. While he has not made the breakthrough he would have liked at Inter – he is easily worth £30million, if not more.
Tenacious, determined and powerful – teemed with technical ability, and can score or create, ‘El Tucu’ is a player that would seriously improve Newcastle. As would de Vrij, who is available on the cheap after rejected a new deal.
It sees his Inter contract still due to expire in 2023. So, while it makes sense, getting both players for little over £40million is superb business from Newcastle.
