According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Oliver Casey is open to leaving Leeds United as Blackpool prepare to offer him a move.
It’s claimed that Casey is now closing in on a permanent move to Bloomfield Road with Neil Critchley keen to get him signed up.
Casey allegedly feels that he can play more regular first-team action at Blackpool, and is therefore interested in leaving Leeds.
How did Casey fare for Leeds last season?
The 20-year-old centre back didn’t play at all in the Premier League as Marcelo Bielsa looked elsewhere.
Casey did though make 21 Premier League 2 outings, helping Leeds take the Division 2 title in April.
Casey’s low point of the season came in January as he played 45 minutes of the embarrassing 3-0 defeat at League Two side Crawley Town.

What has been said about Casey?
Bielsa praised Casey in 2019, hailing his rapid development and ‘good defensive presence’ as the youngster made a big impression as a substitute against Huddersfield Town.
Luke Ayling also praised him for that display, calling him ‘brilliant’ on Twitter, whilst Jamie Shackleton has suggested that Casey has ‘all the attributes’ you look for at centre back.
It hasn’t quite worked out for Leeds-born Casey at Elland Road, but it looks like he will now get a big Championship opportunity with Blackpool.
