Juventus have reportedly reached an agreement with Olympique Marseille to sign Polish striker Arkadiusz Milik on loan, with Everton and Manchester United both in the race for the Ligue 1 star this summer.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Serie A giants have struck a deal with Marseille to sign Milik for the season, with Juventus looking for a backup striker all summer and failing to reach agreements for the likes of Memphis Depay and Alvaro Morata, two players who have also been offered to the Premier League.

Both Everton and United were reportedly interested in signing Milik this summer, with new Marseille manager Igor Tudor intent on offloading the former Napoli star this window, however, it is Juventus who have won the race for the 28-year-old, who is set to join the Bianconeri on loan.

As per the report, Milik will sign for Juventus on an initial loan deal with Massimilano Allegri’s side having an option to make the deal permanent next summer for just €8m (£6m), a far cry from the reported €20m (£17m) Marseille were demanding for the forward earlier in the transfer window.

Indeed, Juventus seem to have secured a good deal in signing Milik on loan, especially with the likes of Everton and United both interested in bringing the striker to the Premier League this summer, and the Polish striker could be a great option for Allegri’s squad for the new season.

With Dusan Vlahovic the club’s main talisman upfront, Milik is a solid backup to have for Juventus, especially with the Turin giants eager to win silverware this season and make their mark on the UEFA Champions League, a competition the Polish international has quite the record in.

Milik has been one of Europe’s most underrated goalscorers for quite some time, and with Juventus winning the race to sign the forward on loan for the season, both Everton and United could regret not trying hard enough to land the Polish international this summer.

After all, Milik is a reliable source of goals, and with Everton and United both in desperate need of a reliable scorer to lead the line, the former Ajax academy graduate could be perfect for the Premier League sides, with Juventus now set to reap the rewards of the striker for the season.
