According to Calciomercato, Juventus want Tottenham target Pau Torres, with Chelsea interested in signing Matthijs de Ligt.
What’s the story?
Well, the Italian news outlet believe Juventus are resigned to losing the Netherlands international, with Thomas Tuchel monitoring the £107m defender’s situation.
As a result, Massimiliano Allegri is now eyeing a move for Torres to replace De Ligt, although the Villarreal centre-back is wanted by Antonio Conte.
Spurs scouted the Spain international in Villarreal’s Champions League semi-final ties against Liverpool, with Fabio Paratici – Director of Football at Tottenham – working on a deal.
However, the north Londoners must be quick, as they could suffer a double blow if Juventus sign Torres.
Not only will Conte and Paratici miss out on one of their targets, but they could also inadvertently strengthen a rival in Chelsea by pushing De Ligt closer to Stamford Bridge.
Therefore, if there is genuine interest in Torres, Tottenham must act on it now.
Interest in the 25-year-old comes after he shone for Villarreal in the Champions League last season, scoring against Juventus in the Champions League Round of 16 as Unai Emery guided the Yellow Submarine to the semi-finals.
Juventus & Chelsea could leave Tottenham wanting

As aforesaid, we feel Spurs need to act quickly, regardless of who they sign.
Clearly, two European giants in Juventus and Chelsea are searching for a new centre-back, which is far from ideal for Tottenham as they run the risk of seeing any deals hijacked by the pair.
Whether it is Torres, or another rumoured target such as Torino titan Gleison Bremer, they must be signed quickly.

If not, it is very possible that Conte and Paratici find themselves searching through the bargain bin on deadline day, having lost out on the best options to Juventus and Chelsea.
However, there is still plenty of time remaining in the transfer window, so if Tottenham move quickly, they will hopefully avoid finding themselves in that nightmarish scenario.
