AS Monaco are reportedly in talks to sign Juventus midfielder Denis Zakaria, who the Serie A giants brought in January despite interest from Arsenal and Liverpool.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Ligue 1 side are looking to sign the Swiss international just six months after Zakaria signed for Juventus from Borussia Monchengladbach, with the Italian titans keen to ship off an extra midfielder to facilitate the pending arrival of Leandro Paredes.
As per the report, Juventus are keen to bring the PSG enforcer to Turin this summer, and after releasing Aaron Ramsey, the Old Lady still need to make space in their squad for the Argentine international, with Zakaria the player set for the chop as Monaco look to sign the former Bundesliga star.
The update will come as a shock for many fans and pundits given that Juventus only signed Zakaria in January, winning a race for the midfielder that included the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool, however, the Bianconeri are now seemingly done with the Swiss international after just six months.
Indeed, Monaco have made some astute signings this summer, namely Takumi Minamino from Liverpool and RB Salzburg talent Mohamed Camara, and now, the Ligue 1 side could add Zakaria to their ranks, much to the dismay of Arsenal and the Merseyside giants.
After all, both Premier League clubs were chasing Zakaria in January, a player who former Gladbach boss Marco Rose once labelled as ‘incredible’ to watch, and for Juventus to win the race for the midfielder only to bin him off after half a season is a slap in the face for teams like Arsenal and Liverpool as well as the dynamo.
Zakaria can show Juventus they have made a mistake by signing for Monaco

Selling Zakaria to sign Paredes is a decision many fans and pundits will label as questionable, at best, with the Swiss midfielder an outstanding quality who is yet to show Juventus his best qualities, yet signing for Monaco can show the Italian side just how much of a mistake this move is.
With Arsenal and Liverpool still reeling from missing out on Zakaria in January, the midfielder could flourish at Monaco should the Ligue 1 side pull off the signing in the coming days, and for Juventus, there’s a strong chance they could regret the move they’re about to make in the transfer market.
