Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool will have to pay €7 million (£5.87m) to sign Denis Zakaria from Borussia Monchengladbach in the January transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has reported that Monchengladbach are looking for €7 million (£5.87 million) in transfer fee to sell Zakaria now.
Romano has named the clubs who are keen on Zakaria, as you can see below.
Now, Romano has said that Liverpool will not sign the 25-year-old defensive midfielder in the January transfer window.
Earlier this week, ESPN reported that Liverpool are one of three clubs to have made ‘serious offers’ to Zakaria, who is out of contract at Monchengladbach at the end of the season and earns £51,000 per week as salary (Salary Sport).
Liverpool reportedly want to sign the midfielder in the summer of 2022 when he will become a free agent.
Fussball Transfers reported in December 2021 that Arsenal have made contact with the agents of the 25-year-old with a view to making a deal in the summer of 2022.
Arsenal should bid for Denis Zakaria now
In our view, Arsenal should make a bid for Zakaria now and not wait until the summer of 2022.
Arsenal can surely afford €7 million (£5.87 million).

We have covered reports claiming how keen Arsenal are on signing a midfielder this month, with Juventus star Arthur Melo a key target.
That deal has not gone through, and Juventus may not even let him go this month.
Zakaria would be a good alternative, and if he is available for €7 million (£5.87 million), then Arsenal should do their utmost to bring him to the Emirates Stadium now.
