Leeds United and West Ham United are now reportedly facing competition from Jose Mourinho’s AS Roma for Nahitan Nandez.
La Gazzetta dello Sport has reported that new Roma head coach Jose Mourinho wants to sign a midfielder and has identified Nandez as a potential transfer target.
Cagliari could reportedly sell, but the Italian club would want €36 million (£30.96 million) as transfer fee for the 25-year-old midfielder.
Mourinho’s interest in Nandez means competition for Leeds and West Ham in their quest to sign the Uruguay international.
TMW reported earlier this month that Leeds are interested in signing the Cagliari midfielder this summer, as covered by HITC Sport.
We also covered a report from Corriere dello Sport last month claiming that West Ham want the former Boca Juniors player.

If Leeds or West Ham fans had any concerns about Nandez, then Mourinho’s interest will surely dispel them.
Mourinho is one of the best managers ever, and the former Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur boss would not want to sign a player if he was not good enough.
Nandez is a versatile midfielder who can play more centrally, in an attacking role or out wide.
The Uruguayan scored two goals and gave two assists in 32 Serie A games for Cagliari this past season.
