According to La Voix Du Nord, Inter Milan are now eyeing Arsenal target Zeki Celik as a potential replacement for Achraf Hakimi.
Hakimi is being strongly linked with a move away from Inter, with Chelsea or Paris Saint-Germain currently looking like his most likely destination.
Inter are starting to look at potential successors, and Celik is now thought to be on the radar for new boss Simone Inzaghi.
Arsenal’s interest in Celik…
This isn’t what Arsenal will have wanted to hear, given that the London Evening Standard claim they want to sign Celik.
Hector Bellerin is likely to leave this summer, so Arsenal need to find a new right back themselves, with Turkish international Celik a real option.
Celik is only 24, just won the league title with Lille, recorded three goals and three assists last season and may be available on the cheap given Lille’s financial problems; he clearly ticks a number of Arsenal boxes.
And the Gunners also fancy Hakimi
This one always seemed pretty unlikely, but The Telegraph noted in March that Arsenal were plotting a summer move for Hakimi.
The Moroccan star racked up seven goals and 10 assists in Inter’s title-winning campaign this past season, but will cost more than £50million.
Arsenal surely won’t be paying that kind of money this summer, but there is the possibility that the Gunners get left without both Hakimi and Celik – a far from ideal situation.
