Arsenal Youth reporter Jeorge Bird is a well-known and well-respected journalist who has extensive knowledge of and connections in the Gunners’ academy.

Bird has reported on his website that Edwards has travelled with the Arsenal squad for their Premier League game against Leeds at Elland Road today.

The journalist has added that the 19-year-old striker is the only academy player who has travelled with Mikel Arteta’s squad.

This is the first time that the teenager – described as ‘a hard-working attacker whose style of play and potency in front of goal emulates fellow academy grad, Eddie Nketiah’ in Football.London – has travelled with the Arsenal squad for a Premier League game.

And Edwards could potentially make his debut for Arsenal.

It was not long ago when Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta decided to hand teenager Ethan Nwaneri his debut for the Gunners against Brentford.

Nwaneri came on as a substitute for Fabio Vieira in the second minute of injury time in the London derby.

The attacking midfielder was 15 years, five months and 23 days old at the time and become the youngest ever Premier League player.
