Fiorentina’s talks to tie Tottenham Hotspur target Dusan Vlahovic down to a new contract have stalled amid fears he could be leaving.
That’s according to Gianluca Di Marzio, who claims that talks over a new deal have now stopped.
Fiorentina have offered Vlahovic a deal worth €3.5million – around £58,000-a-week – as well as a release clause of €80million (£68million).
Vlahovic’s agents asked for many specific terms, and with Vlahovic only wanting a four-year deal compared to a five-year deal, the talks have now collapsed.
This could be music to the ears of Tottenham and director of football Fabio Paratici, with Vlahovic believed to be a prime target.
Sky Italia claimed on Monday that Tottenham are ready to offer £51million for Vlahovic, whilst Alfredo Pedulla claims Tottenham are waiting for a final decision from Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso.
Tottenham seem to have pushed themselves to the front of the queue for Vlahovic, and this news of his contract talks collapsing only increases the chances of a deal being done.
The 21-year-old Serbian was outstanding last season, hitting 21 goals in 37 league games whilst being compared to Erling Haaland by Stevan Jovetic.
Vlahovic has a huge future ahead of him, and with contract talks falling apart and Tottenham moving in, Paratici could pull off a huge coup.
