Tottenham Hotspur are ready to make Fiorentina an offer for Dusan Vlahovic close to the bid they presented to Inter Milan for striker Lautaro Martinez, according to Sky Sport Italia.

Spurs are one of the two serious contenders for Vlahovic’s services this summer alongside defending La Liga champions Atletico Madrid. Managing Director Fabio Paratici has ramped up his pursuit of the Serbian as Inter Milan work to keep Martinez at the San Siro.

Tottenham agreed a £51m fee with Inter for Martinez after Paratici convinced Daniel Levy to sanction the deal, per But the Nerazzurri do not want the Argentine, who was keen on the move, to leave after selling Romelu Lukaku.

Vlahovic is also open to joining Tottenham from Fiorentina, Gianluca Di Marzio reports, and Spurs’ pursuit has only been strengthened. Sky Sport Italia understand La Viola and Atletico Madrid are far apart in terms of their valuation of the 21-year-old.

Atleti bid €60m (£51m) but the fee included bonuses, which failed to convince Fiorentina owner Rocco Commisso to sell. The La Liga side also found Vlahovic’s agent, Darko Ristic’s demands to be excessive, so have started to consider targeting Matheus Cunha instead.

Fiorentina want to resolve Vlahovic’s future this week before their Serie A curtain-raiser at Roma on Sunday, per Calciomercato. The Italian publication had also reported recently that Tottenham made Fiorentina an offer for Vlahovic, who they value at €60m (£51m).

If Paratici has offered the sum matching what Tottenham bid for Martinez, then Vlahovic could move to north London. But Spurs will likely have to pay more upfront for the Serbian, having settled on paying Inter through various add-ons.

Atletico failure shows Tottenham what’s needed to sign Vlahovic from Fiorentina

Atletico Madrid’s failure to agree terms shows Paratici what is needed for Tottenham to sign Vlahovic from Fiorentina this summer. The La Liga outfit seemed to match La Viola’s asking price for their seven-cap star, who scored 21 goals in 37 games last season.

But Commisso’s request for fewer add-ons derailed the Colchoneros’ approach, along with Ristic’s demands relating to personal terms. Now, Tottenham may have a clear path to sign Vlahovic, with indications from Italy currently very positive for Spurs’ pursuit.

Although Paratici has a small window for Tottenham to agree on the structure of a deal for Vlahovic with Fiorentina. La Viola want his future sorted by this weekend or will likely keep him at the Artemio Franchi Stadium. But, that said, Corriere dello Sport previously reported an August 15 deadline, which has now passed.
