According to the BBC, Crystal Palace are considering moves for Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Cheick Doucoure as Patrick Vieira aims to bolster his squad.
What’s the story?
Well, this isn’t exactly fresh news for Crystal Palace fans to digest, although there is one new update in the BBC‘s report.
We’ve already covered Vieira’s interest in Wan-Bissaka, who has fallen out of favour at Manchester United.
We have also covered Crystal Palace’s pursuit of Doucoure, with the south Londoners said to be closing in on a £15m deal for the Mali international.
In Wan-Bissaka’s case, however, a permanent deal does not seem doable.
According to the BBC, the most likely way in which the 24-year-old returns to Selhurst Park is on loan, due to the wages he earns at Old Trafford.
The BBC do not disclose Wan-Bissaka’s salary, although it’s clearly a prohibitively large amount for the Eagles to take on.
So far this season, the right-back has made 26 appearances in all competitions, but was left out of the squad for Manchester United’s last two games.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka & Cheick Doucoure would be ideal for Crystal Palace

Dougie Freedman – Director of Football at Crystal Palace – is clearly aware of the weak points in Vieira’s squad.
The right-back department has been an issue since Wan-Bissaka left for Old Trafford in truth, as Joel Ward and Nathaniel Clyne share their duties in that role as Nathan Ferguson struggles with injuries.
So, if the south Londoners can bring Wan-Bissaka back, and play him alongside Tyrick Mitchell, Marc Guéhi and Joachim Andersen, Vieira would have an exceptional backline.

With Doucoure, the 22-year-old would bring a much needed presence at the base of midfield, although one with more technical ability than Cheikhou Kouyate.
The RC Lens maestro has been likened to Liverpool colossus Fabinho, which gives you a good idea of the type of player he is.
Keep an eye on these sagas, as we wouldn’t be surprised to see Wan-Bissaka and Doucoure arrive in SE25 soon.
