Leeds United, Newcastle United and West Ham United have been boosted by a report from France.
Earlier in August, it was reported [90 min] that the Premier League trio were interested in signing Bamba Dieng of Marseille.
Despite speculation about Leeds, Newcastle and West Ham being keen, the 22-year-old Senegal international would prefer to stay in France.
At least, that’s what RMC Sport in France have reported.
According to this publication, Dieng would like to continue in Ligue 1 but the French outfit are keen for him to join an English club, the report has revealed.
Logically you would think Newcastle were out of the race.

Remember, Dieng, available for £13 million, is a striker and the Magpies have just committed to paying a club-record fee to sign Alexander Isak for £63 million.
With that in mind, you could be forgiven for believing that Leeds and the Hammers had a better chance of Dieng.
However, Dharmesh Sheth revealed on Friday night that the St James’s Park outfit remain keen on signing Joao Pedro, despite the Isak arrival.
And that right there indicates that Newcastle remain active in adding attackers to Eddie Howe’s ranks.
Likewise, the Elland Road club are also keen on Pedro, according to reports, and that suggests they’ll be interested in this development about Marseille wanting to sell him to an English side.
As for West Ham, well they’re rock bottom of the Premier League and it goes without saying that David Moyes could definitely do with additional firepower, too.
