Well, Newcastle United have just smashed their transfer record – and they could yet sign a reported Leeds United target.
Alexander Isak has joined the Magpies in what could wind up being a £63 million deal in total.
The Sweden international is the fourth player to join Newcastle this summer, but could there be a fifth?
Prior to Isak going to St James’s Park, there was a lot of speculation about Eddie Howe signing Joao Pedro, who Leeds are keeping tabs on [90 min].
And Dharmesh Sheth of Sky Sports News has revealed that although the trail has gone cold, nobody on Tyneside is ruling out the signing of the Watford attacker.
He said to SSN last night: “Since Isak has signed, the big question has been whether anyone else will come in. Eddie Howe certainly hopes so. I’m told it’s gone quiet with Joao Pedro, but also that it’s not been ruled out.
“Newcastle’s bid was worth £30m, with £25m guaranteed. It was the structure of the add-ons which was still under discussion.”

As mentioned by Sheth, Newcastle have already seen one offer rebuffed by the Hornets, but what an exciting final week it could be for supporters of the North-East club.
Compared to this time last year, the Magpies have been completely transformed on and off the field.
And now that Isak is signed up, adding Pedro to the ranks would seriously enhance the feel-good factor at Newcastle and, more importantly, increase the likelyhood of achieving whatever the internal goal is this season.
However, Leeds have enjoyed a rip-roaring start to the Premier League campaign, collecting seven points from a possible nine and they’re a threat if Pedro is a genuine target.
According to 90 Min this week, Pedro is valued at around £35 million.
