According to The Times, Ruben Neves is almost certain to stay at Wolves throughout the January transfer window.
Wolves currently sit bottom of the Premier League, but with Julen Lopetegui at the helm and a talented squad to call upon, many believe that the Midlands club can turn things around.
As we know, Neves is Wolves’ key player, and as he enters the final 18 months of his contract, speculation has been rife about his future with both Liverpool and Arsenal linked.
Wolves’ resolve is likely to be tested in the coming weeks, but the Molineux outfit are seemingly set on keeping their captain as they look to stave off the threat of relegation.

In all honesty, Wolves would be fools to sell Neves at this juncture.
Yes, while his price may be at its highest right now before he enters the final year of his deal, the financial ramifications of a potential relegation are so much worse than the dip in value Neves will have going into the summer window.
Unfortunately for the big clubs, their chances of signing Neves in January are all-but dead, but with Wolves seemingly set for a very underwhelming season, it wouldn’t be surprising at all if the ‘sensational’ midfielder decided to call time on his career in the midlands come the end of the season.
Regardless of what happens going forwards, Neves will be remembered as a modern great at Wolves. He was their marquee signing back in 2017 as they returned to the Premier League, and since then he’s gotten better and better, proving that he is one of Europe’s elite midfielders.
With all due respect, a player of this talent doesn’t belong at a club like Wolves, and while he’s set to stay for the remainder of 2022/23, that may well be his last dance so to speak.
