Nuno Espirito Santo is keen to stay in the Premier League after leaving Wolverhampton Wanderers, with the Daily Mail giving Tottenham Hotspur a timely a boost in their pursuit of a new manager.
Many Wolves supporters may be convinced Nuno is destined to take Jose Mourinho’s place in the Spurs dugout but, in reality, things are far less cut and dried.
Four weeks after giving Jose the boot, Spurs appear to have cut the longest shortlist in history to four front-runners – Graham Potter, Roberto Martinez, Ralf Rangnick and Erik ten Hag (Athletic).
There’s a real chance, however, that all of that quartet will spurn Daniel Levy’s advances, with Potter happy at Brighton, Martinez enjoying one of the biggest jobs in international football, Rangnick showing little interest in a move to the Premier League and Ten Hag signing a new contract at Ajax.
As a result, Nuno could find himself moving up the ladder.
In April, The Express reported Levy is a big fan of a 47-year-old whose organised, counter-attacking approach should, in theory, plug the gaps in a porous Spurs defence while giving a fresh lease of life to the likes of Son Heung-min, Lucas Moura and Tanguy Ndombele.

And the Mail believes, given the choice, Nuno would choose to stay and continue his Premier League adventure with one of Wolves’ top-flight rivals.
Beggars can’t be choosers and, at this stage, Tottenham may have little choice but to consider anyone showing an interest in a job that seemingly no-one wants.
