Dusan Tadic hopes to see “top coach” Erik ten Hag stay at Ajax for the forseeable future despite reported interest from Tottenham Hotspur, speaking to De Telegraaf.
And, fortunately for Tadic and the rest of his Amsterdam Arena teammates, Ten Hag doesn’t appear to be going anywhere just yet.
Because, just days after the Daily Mail reported the Dutchman had jumped to the top of Daniel Levy’s managerial wish-list, Ajax exercised the one-year extension clause in their coach’s contract.
After guiding a rampant Ajax side to the Eredivisie title at the weekend, it looks for all the world as though Ten Hag will be sticking around to defend his crown.
And Tottenham’s loss will undoubtedly be Ajax’s gain.
“The trainer is doing very well with Ajax,” says Tadic, who has produced a remarkable 22 goals and 25 assists this season.
“He is a professional and focuses on the smallest details.

“Of course, I will not go over the contracts and their lengths. But he is a real top coach and I hope he will stay with the club for a long time to come.”
You can see why Ten Hag may have plenty of admirers in north London.
A Guardiola disciple who honed his coaching talents alongside the current Manchester City boss at Bayern Munich, the 51-year-old pulled up plenty of trees at Utrecht before getting his big break in the Dutch capital in 2017.
Ten Hag’s Ajax have largely dominated the domestic landscape since, tearing opponents to shreds with a distinctly Pep-esque brand of free-flowing attacking football, all the while turning little-known youngsters (Matthijs de Ligt, Donny van de Beek and Frenkie de Jong) into household names.
