Arsenal will announce the signing of a new contract for Folarin Balogun next Wednesday, according to AllNigeriaSoccer.
It has been reported that Balogun will undergo media duties with the Arsenal media team on Tuesday, and that the announcement will be made a day later.
The report has added that the 19-year-old striker ‘wants to announce his renewal in a big way’, claiming that the youngster ‘has already started compiling a video of his best moments at Arsenal since he joined the club at the age of eight’.
The Guardian has also reported that Balogun is close to agreeing a new deal with Arsenal, with the youngster’s current contract at the Premier League club running out at the end of the season.
Good decision?
Balogun has yet to make an appearance in the Premier League, but the 19-year-old has already played in the Europa League for Arsenal this season.
According to WhoScored, the teenager has scored two goals and provided one assist in four substitute appearances in the Europa League for the North London club this campaign.
The teenager is a very talented and promising young striker who has already impressed the Arsenal fans with his performances in the Under-23 side and in training with the senior team, and him staying at Arsenal beyond the summer of 2021 would be great for the club.
