Memphis Depay to Arsenal is a transfer story beginning to gather some traction.

According to Spanish outlet Super Deporte in April, the Gunners are interested in signing the Barcelona attacker during the summer transfer window.

It was then reported by ABC that Arsenal had made an enquiry to the Catalan giants about bringing him back to the Premier League.

With that report coming only this week, their interest in the former Manchester United forward seems very fresh.

And if another piece of speculation from the same publication is true, Arsenal have been encouraged to step up their interest in Depay.

Sport have this afternoon reported that Barca would be willing to accept around £25 million to sell the player on a permanent basis this summer.

Depay, who has a £338 million release clause at Camp Nou, endured a hit-and-miss first season with the La Liga outfit and coach Xavi is seemingly willing to let him go.

Memphis Depay to Arsenal going to happen?

Well, it certainly has legs and if he’s genuinely available for £25 million, well it’s a no-brainer.

Remember, Arsenal are probably going to need additional wide support this summer.

It was reported by Football London this week that Edu and Mikel Arteta are prepared to listen to offers for Nicolas Pepe and with the Gunners’ attack being relatively poor this season, scoring 56 goals in 37 Premier League games, any departure for the Ivory Coast international would have to result in somebody coming in.

With there being a genuine need for Depay, and his price being pretty low, then yes, Memphis Depay to Arsenal does seem like a legitimate prospect.
