According to Sport Klub, Dušan Vlahović is now close to a move to London after Tottenham submitted a bid for his services.
What’s the story?
Well, according to Calciomercato, Tottenham have made an offer for the 7-cap Serbia international, who is valued at £51 million.
Atlético Madrid and AC Milan have also bid for Fiorentina’s No.9.
However, Sport Klub believe Vlahović is closest to joining a club in London, which could arguably be Spurs if you join up the dots.
Liverpool are also interested in the 21-year-old.
In fact, Jürgen Klopp’s side were said to be in advanced talks to sign the powerful striker.
If Tottenham have beaten Liverpool to Vlahović, it would represent a real coup.
Can Dušan Vlahović replace Harry Kane?
In our view, you can count the number of strikers capable of replacing Harry Kane on one hand – there are few like him around.
However, for someone six years younger than the 57-cap England international, Vlahović is doing very well for himself.
The Belgrad-born hitman scored 21 goals in 37 appearances for Fiorentina in Serie A last season.
His efforts saw him named Serie A Young Player of the Year, and deservedly so.
Of course, it would be a risk to replace Kane with someone so young.
However, Vlahović has the potential to be a star of the future.
He’s drawn comparisons to Zlatan Ibrahimović and Erling Braut Håland, as he too is a physical frontman with excellent ball control.
