According to Calciomercato, Tottenham have submitted an offer for Fiorentina striker Dušan Vlahović.

What’s the story?

Well, the Italian news outlet claim that Spurs are one of three clubs to submit an offer for the 21-year-old.

Atlético Madrid and AC Milan have also bid for the 7-cap Serbia international, who put his name up in lights this season.

Vlahović scored 21 goals in 37 Serie A appearances, helping Fiorentina finish 13th in Italy’s top-flight.

His efforts saw him named Serie A Young Player of the Year.

Calciomercato write that Fiorentina want €60 million (£51 million) for their No.9.

That’s a huge amount to pay for such an inexperienced striker.

However, Vlahović is unquestionably an exciting wonderkid, who could be worth double that in a few seasons if he keeps his form up.

Interestingly, Liverpool were said to be in advanced talks to sign Vlahović a few weeks ago.

However, that talk has quietened down lately.

The same report claimed that Vlahović was happy to change clubs this summer.

In our view, despite comparisons to Zlatan Ibrahimović, the wonderkid has the potential to be Jürgen Klopp’s new Robert Lewandowski.

Vlahović is tall, strong and powerful, but also fairly quick with good ball control, making him a nightmare for opponents.

From our point of view, the Reds have the best chance of signing the Serbian, as they actually have a manager at the helm.

Until Daniel Levy finds a replacement for José Mourinho, Tottenham will probably struggle to sign players.

Whoever signs him will be getting a fantastic young talent, who seems tailor made for the Premier League.
