One of the players the Arsenal academy has produced in recent years who has established himself in the first team is Bukayo Saka.

Bukayo Saka came through the Arsenal youth system and is now one of the first names on manager Mikel Arteta’s teamsheet.

Saka is 22 now, but he already seems to be a veteran. He plays whenever he is fit and available and is remarkably consistent.

The England international winger has scored 44 goals and given 34 assists in 162 Premier League appearances so far in his career.

While Saka has come through the ranks at Arsenal to become a first-team star, the same cannot be said for Eddie Nketiah.

Eddie Nketiah is a squad player at Arsenal

As much as Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has praised Nketiah on many occasions, he has not used the striker enough.

The striker has been on the books of Arsenal since 2015. The 24-year-old England international has scored 19 goals and given five assists in 113 matches in the Premier League so far in his career.

Nketiah is a peripheral figure at Arsenal. Described as a “remarkable” player with an “incredible” mentality by Gunners manager Arteta, the striker has made 10 starts and 14 substitute appearances in the Premier League this season, scoring five goals and giving two assists in the process.

The striker made nine starts and 21 substitute appearances in the league for the Gunners last season. He scored four goals and provided one assist in those games.

Eddie Nketiah should leave Arsenal this summer

Nketiah is under contract at Arsenal until the summer of 2027, and I think that he has to leave the North London club at the end of the season for his own good.

I do not see how Nketiah is going to enhance his career by being a bit-part player for Arsenal. Even when he has been fit and available this season, Arteta has played Kai Havertz ahead of him as a false nine.

Nketiah is in demand. HITC revealed last week West Ham United and Crystal Palace are interested in the striker. Arsenal are willing to cash in on him.

In my view, the striker simply has to look to leave in the summer of 2024. West Ham and Palace are big and established clubs in the Premier League, and I think that Nketiah could flourish at either of the London clubs.
