Rangers defender Borna Barisic could be on his way out of Ibrox ahead of the transfer window closing on Tuesday – and Gers fans on Twitter are not happy at the prospect of losing the Croatian international.

Barisic appeared to give an emotional farewell to the Rangers fans after this afternoon’s 1-0 Old Firm win over Celtic, with assistant manager Gary McAllister coy when quizzed about it.

Despite a poor first season at Ibrox, Barisic has been a vital part of the Scottish champions’ success over the last 12 months and any potential sale would surely be felt by the Gers.

With only Calvin Bassey as back-up, losing the Croatian would also leave Rangers pretty short of cover at left-back early in their title defence.

The left-back has made 117 appearances for Rangers since moving to Scotland from NK Osijek in 2018, scoring seven times and chipping in with 33 assists – including the cross for Fil Helander to score the winner today.

With rumours over Barisic’s future sweeping across social media, Rangers fans have been quick to let the club know they want him to stay at Ibrox.

Here are some of the comments from Rangers fans on Twitter as speculation swirls over Barisic’s future:
