Rangers assistant manager Gary McAllister thinks Robby McCrorie’s performance in the 1-0 win over Celtic proves get belongs as part of the first-team squad at Ibrox.
McCrorie was thrown into the first team for his Rangers debut against Alashkert on Thursday night, keeping a clean sheet, before starting this afternoon’s Old Firm and shutting out Kyogo Furuhashi, Odsonne Eduoard and co.

McAllister thinks the 18 months McCrorie spent on loan at Livingston has really helped him flourish as the Gers number two praised the Scotland squad keeper’s demeanour.
“I’ve spoke about Robby within the club, we’ve seen a big change in this young man. We’ve seen a maturity around his demeanour in the training ground,” McAllister said [Glasgow Live]
“He’s more talkative and joining in, I think he feels he belongs now.
“Last season getting to Livingston was so valuable for him and he’s growing and growing. He looks an impressive figure when you see him in the goal.”
With the international break meaning Rangers have no game for a fortnight, McCrorie is likely to lose his place when the Gers return to action.
While that isn’t really a surprise, it will be interesting to see whether he is given more game time in cup games over the coming months at the expense of Jon McLaughlin.
The keeper has long been tagged as a future number one at Ibrox and it appears he’s finally starting to live up to the hype.
