Juventus technician Adrien Rabiot has lifted the lid on his contract situation amid links to Newcastle United and Arsenal.
The ‘complete’ midfielder, according to Xavi’s current deal expires in the summer, with Mikel Arteta’s side reportedly already plotting a transfer for him. However, Eddie Howe’s high-flying Magpies were also reported to keen on his signature, and that too for free.
Now, Adrien Rabiot has spoken about whether he plans to sign a new contract with Juventus, as Newcastle and Arsenal seem to be scheming about making a move for him ahead of next season.
Rabiot discusses contract situation amid Newcastle and Arsenal links
The Frenchman, who has previously been labelled as an ‘extraordinary’ player saw the hype around his name hit unprecedented levels, as he shone in midfield at the World Cup, alongside Aurelien Tchouameni and Antoine Griezmann.
As both Newcastle and Arsenal seem to be tempted to secure the services of Adrien Rabiot in the summer, he has touched on his contract situation in Turin.

“My philosophy is here and now. I’m at Juventus and I try to always give 100%, the same with the France shirt. Now, I don’t think about it, I just have to do well and help the team, we’ll see with the club and we’ll understand if we can go on”, Newcastle and Arsenal target Rabiot was quoted saying by Calciomercato about his contract situation.
“Now, I’m thinking about the championship and helping the team go forward as much as they can in Europe.”
Rabiot did not commit to his future in his latest statement
Not at a single point did he give any assurances that he aims to extend his contract with Juventus, which is good news for Newcastle and Arsenal.
Both clubs have a chance to sign an established player in the summer and that too on a free transfer. Where he ends up is a question that time will have to answer.
