Wolverhampton Wanderers face Newcastle United on Saturday in the Championship, and HITC pundits give their predictions on the likely outcome.

Dan Coombs

Wolves 3-2 Newcastle United

Newcastle have looked far from unbeatable in recent weeks, while Wolves have shown they can win big games. They stunned St James’ earlier in the season and just like Blackburn did to Newcastle, Paul Lambert’s side could record a shock double.

Wolves 1-2 Newcastle United

Thanks to a recent revival and Brighton’s stuttering form, Newcastle are back on top in the title race. And even a Wolves side improving weekly under Paul Lambert will struggle to keep The Magpies out at Molineux.

Wolves 1-2 Newcastle

Newcastle United have been very good away from home this season, picking up as many points on their travels as they have at St James’ Park. Conversely, Wolves are among the Championship’s bottom three for their home record. The Magpies have slipped up unexpectedly before this season, but I still expect them to pick up all 3 points at Molineux.

Vincent Ralph

Wolves 1-1 Newcastle United

Given the two sides’ respective league places this should be a comfortable win for the visitors, but Newcastle are not the runaway leaders many expected at the start of the campaign. I think this will be a surprise draw with Wolves securing a vital point.

Wolves 1-2 Newcastle United

Though on their day Wolves have proved they can secure superb results, last week’s defeat to Burton underlined that Paul Lambert’s side are still a work in progress. Newcastle’s win over Derby was a significant one, the Magpies are by far the best away side in the league – Wolves on the other hand aren’t so good in front of their own fans. This has a hint of another Ewood Park about it – Newcastle lost there at the start of the year – but I think Rafa will have learnt from such results.

Wolves 1-0 Newcastle United

Wolves secured an unlikely win at St James’ in September and I think they’ll do it again at Molineux. Newcastle are far less invincible than they seemed at one point, while Wolves are much improved under Paul Lambert.
